Jerun and Ocharis
From Vanathul Wiki
About
The story of Jerun and Ocharis is one of love and devotion, but also of loss and despair.
Clerics often choose one domain from Ocharis, and one from Jerun. Alternately both are usually from Jerun if he or she is an adherent of the Silent Chapel of Brugenheim
Ocharis
He was/is a god of growth and self actualization. Granting his faithful support in matters of life and well-being. Due to his ambiguous status as both living and dead, Ocharis is usually depicted with his eyes closed.

Origins
When Jerun was a mortal she was a cleric of Ocharis, whom had paid special attention to her as first among his followers. After a long life of faithful service she was destined to join her deity as more than just a typical petitioner, and Ocharis waited to receive her spirit when it left the material realm.
Upon her death, her patron deity figuratively reached down, eager to recieve her, but as he was close to reach her he was "pushed" over the "edge" into the realm of death, killing him. The culprit of this deicide is a topic of hot debate, but a majority of theologians postulate that it was done because Ocharis upset some kind of balance. Another all together more apocryphal possibility is that it was Vadros himself who did not wish to relinquish his sons role as a son. Were he to enter a union with Jerun they would become a family onto themselves, as well as diminishing Vadros' flock.
As his last act, the falling god aided his faithful disciple, and would be wife in her ascension, giving her the final push needed to reach divinity. When she opened her new eyes to gaze upon her husband, she was met by only an empty throne and utter silence. The first thing she realized with her greatly expanded comprehension was that she would never face her love.
Jerun was later greeted by her divine siblings and parents, and was accepted into their family. She does however keep to herself, to process her grief alone.
She is the patron deity for exiles, the lost, the mute, and the dying.

The whole Jerun and Ocharis divinity is now a representation of both life and death, gain and loss. A duality of oppositions.
Because time has less influence over deities, Ocharis is at once falling, still sitting as a deity, still reaching to recieve Jerun, and already dead, just as Jerun is both reaching to be recieved by her god, and grieving his fall.
