Summary

Not quite a religion, but still connected in their origin, the Damned are a grouping of deities in many ways similar to the Eldest in power and influence. They are similarly prevented from interfering with the material plane(s) at will by some powerful accord.

The Mistfaith describes the Damned as demons and devils, and is the origin of their name.

Origins

The desire for power and immortality is one shared by many - if not most mortals. During the reign of the Remnants on Old Orn, this desire was expressed in a handful of ways, like taking new bodies or making new oned. Another one was that of apotheosis.

In their wish to attain godhood the vast majority failed. Some failed with interesting results, but some very few realized their dream, or at least somethin approximating their desire.

When the cataclysm struck, it anihilated practically all worshipers in many gruesome ways.This instant and intense outpouring of dismay and agony acted as a corrupting wave of faith that twisted many of the fledgeling deities into what is now known as The Damned - evil, monstrous, dark, and murderous.
