Description

According to several disparate accounts found in unearthed ruins, preserved records, and one folk tale, Cuun's Mistake was an early experiment in planar creation.

It is said to be an airy expanse with no solid ground, only interrupted by floating rocks ranging from fist sized to small mountains. Gravity is said to be uniform, but that the floating rocks seem to ignore it.

About

One of the sources and the folk tale both indicate that the plane is anchored to the material plane somewhere on the leadwards parts of Orn, roughly where Mendaris is currently. Sadly neither of the sources are precise, and no one has ever returned any concrete evidence.

Due to its airy nature, it is speculated that Venidem Cuun utilized Retul Totem's reservoir of air to an excessive degree, and that this is what gave the plane its name.

In any case it stands as the first real example of a plane extracted from the space of the material, instead of just being anchored to it. This way of extracting space lost favor due to being mildly destabilizing to the local reality, and only a few other minor anomalies have been found to have used this type of anchoring.

Properties

Bordering

Cuun's Mistake is presumed to only border The Material Plane in a specific location, but it is not known exactly where. Other connections may exist, but they are not documented in any known location. Notably the plane does not border on the ethereal.

This means that forms of plane travel relying on the presence of the ethereal are useless for reaching it
