Description

An empty seeming infinity of platforms, pillars, railing, alchoves and arches. All made of beautifully sculpted marble in all colors and types. White, pink, yellow, brown and black, both pure and with striations of silver and gold all comprise a majority of the structures.

Floors upon floors of platforms, walkways, alcoves and parks takes up most of the space. Occasionally there are airy expanses several floors high, or solid blocks partitioning off sections. But never an end.

There are light sources liberally dotted around the environment. Many of them are in the form of plates in the ceiling, but they also mimic candelabras or other more traditional light sources.

The plane may induce a slight sense of claustrophobia, as there is never any exit in sight, only another room without any windows or sky, but the occasional wide open room alleviates this to an extent.

Structurally the plane doesn't make much sense. The weight of the marble alone should cause everything to collapse, but for some reason it stays up.

The Uneasiness

There is an uncanny feeling that creeps in on any visitor to the plane that stay there for any prolonged time. Though sleep is not required in the same way as outside, resting is challenging at first, and becomes increasingly difficult.

These difficulties are caused by a myriad issues.

  • claustrophobia
  • feeling like beeing watched

Properties

Time

The Akiromenopolis is isolated from the flow of entropy. This results in a plane seemingly detached from the normal flow of time. Time, such as it is, passes, but the normal ravages of time is not felt.

It's more like one is unhitched from the wagon of entropy, and instead of catching up with the original wagon when leaving, it is more like hitching onto the next one coming along instead.

This variation of timelessness is unique to the Akiromenopolis, and has its upsides as well as downsides when compared to other timeless planes.
