History
Logan McDowell was born in Blackport 812 p.o., where he grew up until his family moved to Oxfold where his father accepted a position at The Royal Academy of Wizards. His youth was spent trying to live up to the son his father wanted him to be. Logan read books on a wide variety of subjects, trying to kindle any latent magical talent his Wahlminster heritage may have granted him from his mother's side. This did not pan out, but his studies did let him explore some light wizardry from being a Scholar.
Due to the position of his father, his membership The Royal Academy of Wizards was expedited, enabling him to use their expanded library, and use his title to take jobs.
When Logan was 29 y.o. (in 841 p.o.) his father died after a long period of disease. Though not unexpected, this hit him hard. He lost his role model and mentor. For some time he felt lost, but when word came that His aquaintence Nathan Miller was preparing an expedition to the Mistwreath he volunteered with enthusiasm. And so Logan became involved in shadows of the past in 843 p.o., a choice that changed the direction of his life.
He met his wife Emily Ferrier Halder in 844 p.o., and shortly after their wedding they had their first child Jack.
Now more rooted in his life, with commitments and a defined purpose he quickly rose through the ranks of the academy, and he became chairman, and then surpassing the status of his late father. Sadly, this came at the expense of his relationship with his newborn son, once his obligations started eating into his personal time.
6 years after Jack, in 850 p.o., his daughter Claire was born. She became a wakeup call to his involvement as a parent, and so he made a choice to step back in his professional role, and make time for his young son and newly born daughter.
As the years went on, he slipped more back into old patterns as his studies demanded more and more of him. Only when Claire showed signs of havin a talent for practical magic did he again show a renewed interest in his daughter.
