History

The Fellfen was the first region encountered by the first explorers exiting Mistwreath after the revelation shown to Saint Vergil.

The region was largely uninhabited by any humans, but a smattering outcasts from the Thundertop and the then fledgeling Ashen Empire were encountered. They made little impact on the exodus, and were presumably converted to the Mistfaith and assimilated, or eradicated

The emigration stayed largely on the trailwards side of the big lake, and settlements on the leading side were regularly raided by the Beastkin from the forests there. It led to greater fortifications there, as can be seen in current Stillwater Harbor.

TODO:

  • Why do they still live in the swamp?
    • "Not too bad when you get used to it"
    • Not everything is a swamp. That's mostly the sunwards bog, bordering the Verdant Veil
    • Great diversity in flora, granting a bounty for alchemists who know what to look for.

Trade

Notable exports are Allbell, Bone Reed, Dreamer's Star, Flayleaf, Leechwort and Wolfsbane, as well as several other less impactful herbs and spices.

There is also a thriving alchemical industry, profiting from selling potions and oils to neighboring regions, notably close ties between some of The Valsecchi Family and the administration in Wyvern Tor. The latter said to be providing wyvern poison in exchange for exotic potions.
