Verdant Veil

Also known as Elbenwald by the inhabitants of the Thundertop.

Description

The Verdant Veil is a huge forest spanning from Wahlminster to the mountains bordering the Mistwreath.

Overview

The Verdant Veil is shrouded in mystery. No outsider know much about its inhabitants or how they conduct their business. And what is known, comes from retellings of encounters long ago. This is a result of the hostile local elves, and the often deadly creatures and monsters that live here.

History

Hostility towards human presence, but only when their lands are invaded. This is thought to be the result of the conflict between them and the humans of the Wahlminster province due to aggressive logging during the Camorian Rebellion

Features

Linfield Badlands

Once a forest, now haunted moors and hilly plains.

Giant sequoias dominated the area for ages before they were felled by humans for fuel and building materials.

The remaining vegetation of the Veil are a mix of these ancient trees, and areas of younger denser growth.

Whispering Woods

Many assume that the Whispering Woods are a more plesant place than the Badlands, as it is vegetated and has a fauna, but those people have never lived visited it.

At times adventurous visitors brave its depths, and while some return with curios and trinkets, many return with mental trauma, muttering about voices in the trees.

Emerald Moors

One of Orn's two main outlets from the melting ice wall.
