Former Regional Capital[T]
Nationality Mendaris
Region Wahlminster
Settled 88 p.o. (784 years ago)
Ruined 294 p.o.

Description

Largely ruined. Decayed after centuries of disrepair. Some partly intact buildings still stand and are inhabited by outcasts from Wahlminster.

History

If what remains of murals and maps are to be believed, Karkos was one of several cities in the region belonging to a burgeoning empire, none of which has survived to the present. They were located in the now blasted Linfield badlands, and under the waters of Lake Demhe.

Geography

Karkos is located near the banks of a river that feeds into the nearby lake.

Culture

The original inhabitants of Karkos are thought to be the progenitors of the humans that emigrated to the rest of Wahlminster after the destruction of Orn.

The buildings are a mix of old Ornian pre-destruction architecture, with additions made by people who did not seem to care much for style.

Currently there are not many inhabitants in Karkos. Due to cultural decay and the recent plague, the only denizens are outcasts and outlaws. This gave rise to lawlessness and a power vacuum that were filled by a few powerful figures.
