The Thundering Crusade

Description

A common category for all events that fall under the larger unification of the previously independent city states of the Thundertop into the unified Brienyamar we know now.

Common knowledge

• Unification of the smaller kingdoms on the Thundertop.
  • Events like these are rarely peaceful, but as this happened some time in the past, there is mostly just historical interest with little feeling. Some gnomes in Mendaris may remember it, but as it was an internal affair, and no gnomes live on the plateau, it is of little concern.

Knowledge(history)

• Started around 648 p.o.
• The initial actor was Queen Brien, who also played a major part in it.
• Ebentorp was the first city to submit to her rule, with the surrounding ones swearing loyalty as the number of unified cities grew.
• Ended in 689 p.o., as the last baron was convinced to raise the flag of the now complete Brienyamar.
  • Queen Brien died later that same year, her life work completed.

Knowledge(nobility and royalty)

• The resulting power struggle has resulted in the current split between the leadwards Gryphon Tor and the trailing Wyvern Tor.
• The involved families fighting for the throne. Are the Gerholts, and the Donnerbergs

Knowledge(arcana)

• Queen Brien had formidable magical powers, aiding her and her progeny win the conquest of the other cities, and holding them afterwards. Befitting such a stormwracked place, these powers revolved around lightning manipulation.
