Unique racial traits
An overwhelming majority of humans with the Thundertop heritage has the Heart of the Plateau racial trait. So eve when not strictly mandatory, it is strongly recommended.
Heart of the Plateau
Humans born on the Thundertop plateau are skilled at a range of areas. They gain a +2 racial bonus to two of the following skills:
- Acrobatics
- Climb
- Craft
- Handle Animal
- Profession
- Ride
- Survival
Furthermore, they are considered acclimated to the effects of high altitude. This racial trait replaces skilled.
Benefits of being acclimated
The humans with the Thundertop heritage enjoy an advantage when it comes to life at great altitudes. They do not suffer any meaningful ill effect when going from ground level up to high altitudes.
Any elevation below 15000 ft. counts as normal elevation to anyone with this trait, and extreme altitudes (15000 ft. and up) is considered one step lower. Any other effect from the climate, such as low temperatures or strong winds still affect them like normal.
