- Invested all his savings in a share in a transport boat. All profit went into expanding his share and eventually diversifying his portfolio.
- Some luck, insider information and insightful decisions later McCulloch had established himself as an important figure in Mendarian industry.
- Involvement in the Camorian independence war
- Like many other rich and influential actors, Owen was given an "opportunity" to help the Ashminster in their war effort.
- After the war he did his best to recapture the trust of the people of the newly established Camorian province.
- New markets and getting in on the rebuilding of both Camor and Hartminster were profitable.
