Artificing

Artificing is a broad term encompassing many expressions of mechanical artistry, often with a varying degree of magical investment. Many who fall under the category of artificers (in the magical sense) have their origin in another form of magic, such as wizardry, alchemy, or even divine magics. The following does not fall under either of these.

Prototype/Machinesmiths

As per the Machinesmith class.

Machinesmiths are have their origin in discovered made by the gnomish adventurer and mechanic Stewart O'Connely. It is a relatively new form of magical artifice, with only a handful of practitioners. Developed after Stewart reverse engineered piece of technology from an old Ornian security automaton. The operative force being a magically invested piece of machinery. Some criticize the practice of being close to the taboo practice of soul capture, and the evil acts associated with it, but as it is limited in scope and only ever affects the magician themselves, the practice has skirted the legislation banning soul manipulation.
