Crat

Description

A tiny to small tauric critter comprised of a crow and a cat. They are usually solitary, but can be found in groups of 2-8 individuals during some parts of the year.

Behavior

The crat is an opportunistic predator and scavangig critter found in and near human settlements on Orn. Though they are rarely aggressive towards creatures larger than themselves, they will attack with ferocity if cornered - an act difficult enough when herding grounded felines.

Crats are notoriously mischievous, often stealing shiny trinkets that are left unattended. They are also quite intelligent, often solving simple puzzles that would elude most other simple creature, if given the proper incentive.

During mating season, their noise levels rise significantly. Solitary males fight for territory and sing to attract mates. Most city dwellers find this highly annoying, but for rural settings, where the crat population is much less dense, they find it all much more tolerable.

Variants

Despite the name of crat denoting a certain tauric combination, other variatons exists. An example is is the hawk-cat, which understandibly is not called a "hat", but instead still gets the name "crat".
