Description

Built into and out of the stone of the mountain. Numerous spires rise into the sky.

Inside the many structures the sun is filtered by murals, casting a rainbow of colors across the walls and floors whenever the mist is light enough.

The Cathedral of Silence

The surrounding city is not totally silent, but closer to the main church, sound levels drop gradually, and once inside all outside noises are muffled by heavy draperies. Special noise dampening woolen shoes are available to visitors, matching those worn by the clergy and custodial staff.

The rare muffled cough have been reported, but most staff and visitors tries to leave throat clearing and outside or mask them with simple magic if able.

They worship in complete silence in reverence to the cathedral's main deities, the joint Jerun and Ocharis.

The other shrines

There are, as one would assume, also buildings dedicated to the Divine Family in general. They are not as prominent, but are respected to the same degree. These other churches, chapels and monastaries are not sworn to the same oath of silence, but refrain from vocal communication outside their walls.

History

• Not initially silent, but after Jerun's ascension, and Ocharis' fall, the The Cathedral of Silence was built, and the city got it's new name.

About

• Home of the paladins, clerics and oracles of the Mistwreath.
• All local deities are represented, but the Chapel of Silence is the most prestigious. In it's lower levels the earthly remains of Jerun, the now ascended saint, is said to be housed.
