Aura faint evocation [light]; CL 5th; Weight 1 lbs.; Slot one hand; varies; Price 110 gp;

description [T]

Traditionally a magical flame that burned with a perpetual heatless flame, the modern iterations of the everburning torch combines it with the handyness of a lantern.

Comes in one of the following variants:

  • Bullseye Lantern A bullseye lantern provides normal light in a 60-foot cone and increases the light level by one step in the area beyond that, out to a 120-foot cone.
  • Hooded Lantern A hooded lantern sheds normal light in a 30-foot radius and increases the light level by one step for an additional 30 feet beyond that area.
  • Miner’s Lantern A smaller version of the bullseye lantern, a miner’s lantern provides normal light in a 30- foot cone and increases the light level by one step in the area beyond that, out to a 60-foot cone. A miner’s lantern comes with straps for attachment to a helmet or other piece of sturdy headgear, but it can also be carried in one hand.
  • Adventurers Lantern An adventurers lantern sheds normal light in a 20-foot radius and increases the light level by one step for an additional 20 feet beyond that area. It is designed to be attached to gear, like shields or belts, but can also be carried for dramatic effect.

An additional cost of 10 gp (5 gp when crafting) can be spent to add shutters that allows a lantern to be quickly turned off or back on as a move action.

An Everburning Lantern does not increase the light level in normal light or bright light. Darkness becomes dim light and dim light becomes normal light.
