About
Consists of engineers and other artificers.
Organized to ensure a certain quality of work, as most guilds are, and in general that is what they still do. Many have complained that the guild has established a monopoly on construction and manufacture, and that this drives prices up, effectively giving the leadership of the guild an undeserved position of power in the Mendarian political circles
The Guild has a strict policy on membership, they decide who gets to join, which jobs to take, and take a healthy cut of the profits.
Urban gnomes and humans both comprise the board of representatives. And most of the guilds members.
Innovations
Due to the relative abundance of relics and ruins from the Ornian golden age, there is incentive to scavenge and retro engineer rather than innovate. This is a detriment to innovation, which thrives under the pressure of necessity. Industry leaders wishing to innovate from first principles must therefore do so without the promise of financial gain. Never the less the curiosity and inventiveness of man and gnome still makes the occasional step.
